Breakfast Bistro Sausage Tarts Recipe

This meticulously crafted tart is the perfect morning starter. This tart is filled with Jimmy Dean® Heat ‘n Serve Fully Cooked Breakfast Sausage Links, fluffy eggs, red pepper, diced feta cheese and garnished with fresh herbs. All these ingredients are baked together in a flaky crust.

Ingredients

YIELD: 2 Tarts Per Serving

AMOUNTMAIN INGREDIENTS
4 ea. Jimmy Dean® Heat ‘n Serve Fully Cooked Breakfast Sausage Links 1.0 oz, cooked and sliced on the bias
2 ea. Eggs - Lightly Seasoned
3 oz. Heavy Cream 
1 ea. (2 oz.) Red Bell Pepper - Thin Julienne 1/16” 
1 Tbsp. Scallions - Rings
3 oz. Feta Cheese - Diced
1 package. Pie dough - Prepared
As garnish. Fresh Herbs (Thyme, Oregano, Basil etc.) 
To taste. Cracked Black Pepper 
Directions

Step 1: In a medium bowl combine eggs, heavy cream, pepper and lightly whisk together and set aside.

Step 2: Prep two small tart style pans and bake pie dough halfway.

Step 3: Carefully remove from oven and allow to cool so that they can be handled.

Step 4: Pour in half of the egg/cream mixture into the tart crusts.

Step 5: Place/top/arrange the cooked Jimmy Dean® Heat ‘n Serve Fully Cooked Breakfast Sausage Links bias cuts, red peppers, feta cheese and scallions. Some of the ingredients will partially be exposed, that is ok.

Step 6: Preheat convection oven to 400°F

Step 7: Bake until the center of the egg mixture is set, approximately 15 to 20 mins.

Step 8: Garnish with fresh herbs over the top.
