Italian Sausage and Peppers Panzerotti Recipe

Golden, crispy and bursting with Italian flavors—this Italian Sausage and Peppers Panzerotti features velvety mozzarella, savory Italian-style pork, fire-roasted red pepper and tender spinach, all wrapped in a warm, flaky pizza dough and pan-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

AMOUNTMAIN INGREDIENTS
6 oz.Hillshire Farm® Cooked Italian-Style Pork Topping
2 oz.Mozzarella Cheese
1 oz.Red Bell Peppers, roasted
1 oz.Spinach
1 ea.Pizza Dough, frozen, 12"
Directions

Step 1: Remove the pizza dough from the freezer and allow to come to room temperature.

Step 2: Lay the dough on a clean work surface and deposit the sausage, cheese, peppers and spinach in the center. 

Step 3: Slightly flatten the edges not covered by the filling and fold in half making sure the top half covers the bottom half completely. Make sure to press out as much air as possible, then firmly press the edges together. Fold the edge over 1/4 inch and press one last time to seal.

Step 4: Pre-heat fryer to 350°F and fry for 5 minutes, making sure to flip during the process for even browning.

Step 5: Allow to cool and slice prior to serving hot.
