Bistro Breakfast Sandwich Recipe

This premium breakfast sandwich will help satisfy your customer’s morning cravings. It features two Jimmy Dean® breakfast proteins, Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Pork Sausage Patties and Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Hickory Smoked Thick Bacon Slices and an over-easy egg, smoked Gouda cheese, baby spinach and grape tomatoes on grilled sourdough bread.

4 teaspoonsCracked Black Pepper Honey Butter (Sub-Recipe)
1 TablespoonLemon Vinaigrette (Sub-Recipe)
2 oz.Grape Tomaotes - Halved (Approx. 6 each)
2 oz.Baby Spinach Leaves
2 pattiesJimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Pork Sausage Patties
1 eggLarge Fried Egg
3 slicesJimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Hickory Smoked Thick Bacon Slices
3 teaspoonsBrown Sugar
2 slicesSmoked Gouda Cheese

Lemon Vinaigrette

AMOUNTMAIN INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoonLemon Zest
2 oz.Lemon Juice
1 TablespoonHoney
1 teaspoonDijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoonBlack Fresh Ground Pepper
3 oz.Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Cracked Black Pepper Honey Butter

AMOUNTMAIN INGREDIENTS
1 cup Butter, Unsalted And Softened To Room Temperature 
1/3 cup Honey 
1/2 teaspoon Salt 
1 Tablespoon Black Pepper - Fresh & Course 
Directions

Step 1: Toss the halved grape tomatoes with 1 Tablespoon of the Lemon Vinaigrette (Sub-Recipe) and set aside.

Step 2: Preheat the oven or toaster oven to 375°F.

Step 3: Place the Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Hickory Smoked Thick Bacon Slices on a non-stick or foil-lined baking sheet and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of brown sugar on each strip.

Step 4: Place the Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Pork Sausage Patties on the same baking sheet. Heat in the oven until hot, about 10-12 minutes total. Set aside and keep warm.

Step 5: Grill or toast the sourdough bread slices. Spread 2 teaspoons of the cracked black pepper honey butter (Sub-Recipe) on each slice of bread.

Step 6: Fry the egg in a pan.

Step 7: To assemble the sandwich:  On one slice of bread, add the dressed grape tomato halves, spinach, sausage patties, fried egg, bacon slices and smoked Gouda cheese. Top with the other slice of bread.

Sep 8: Serve warm.

Sub-Recipe Directions

Lemon Vinaigrette

Step 1: In a bowl, whisk the lemon zest, lemon juice, honey, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper thoroughly until completely blended.

Step 2: Add the olive oil while whisking. 

Step 3: Can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Step 4: Shake or mix well before each use.

Cracked Black Pepper Honey Butter

Step 1: In a large bowl, using a hand-held mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter for 1 minute on medium speed until completely smooth and creamy.

Step 2: Beat in the remaining ingredients, starting with the salt.

Step 3: Beat on medium speed until completely smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed.

Step 4: You can refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
