Creole Style Jambalaya Recipe

Elevate your menu with this classic Louisiana style rice dish featuring Tyson® 100% All Natural*, Low Sodium Pulled Chicken and Aidells® Fully Cooked Smoked Cajun-Style Andouille Pork Sausage with traditional trinity style mirepoix, crushed tomatoes, jasmine rice and creole seasonings.

2 tsp.Seasoning, Cajun, Creole (Commercially Available)
16 Oz.Aidells® Fully Cooked Smoked Cajun-Style Andouille Pork Sausage, 2 oz, 128 Links per Case, 16 Lbs, Thawed, & Sliced 1/4 inch
4 Oz.Medium Yellow Onion - Peeled & Diced, 1/4 in.
8 Oz.Green Bell Pepper - Diced, 1/4 in.
4 Oz.Green Celery - Diced, 1/4 in.
1 tsp.Fresh Garlic Clove - Peeled & Minced
1/2 tsp.Fresh Thyme - Chopped
1 Ea.Whole Bay Leaf
1/2 tsp.Kosher Salt
1/4 tsp.Black Ground Pepper
24 Fl. Oz.Chicken Stock - Prepared
14 Oz.Canned Crushed Tomato with Juice
1 tsp.Hot Sauce (Commercially Available)
10 1/2 Oz.Dried Jasmine Rice -  Rinsed & Drained
1 tsp.Flat-Leaf Herb Parsley - Chopped
1 tsp.
Green Onion - Sliced Thin

Directions

Step 1: Place a high-wall skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2: Season the Tyson® 100% All Natural*, Low Sodium Pulled Chicken with Cajun creole seasoning.

Step 3: Place the Tyson® 100% All Natural*, Low Sodium Pulled Chicken and sliced Aidells® Fully Cooked Smoked Cajun-Style Andouille Pork Sausage into the skillet and brown for about 3 to 4 minutes.

Step 4: Add the onions, celery, and peppers, and cook for about 4 minutes, stirring frequently.

Step 5: Stir in garlic, thyme, and bay leaf, salt, and pepper, then cook another 1 ½ minutes.

Step 6: Add chicken stock, hot sauce and rinsed rice, crushed tomatoes and stir, scraping any bits off the bottom.

Step 7: Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low, and simmer covered until most of the liquid is absorbed (about 15 minutes), stirring frequently.

Step 8: Turn off the heat, stir, recover, and let it sit for about another 8 to 10 minutes.

Step 9: Remove the bay.

Step 10: Garnish with sliced green onions and parsley.

Step 11: Serve immediately as needed.

Convection: Cook from frozen.

Step 1: Preheat convection oven to 350°F.

Sep 2: Place frozen links on a parchment lined sheet pan.

Step 3: Cook 16-18 minutes or to a minimum internal temperature of at least 165°F, turning halfway for even browning.

Flat Top Grill: Cook from frozen.

Step 1: Preheat flat top grill to 350°F.

Step 2: Place frozen links on grill.

Step 3.: Cook 20-22 minutes or to a minimum internal temperature of at least 165°F, turning frequently for even browning.
