Blackberry Compote

Serving Amount: 12 Oz

AmountMain Ingredients
2 CupsBlack Berries, Fresh, Whole
¼ CupWhite Sugar, Granulated
1 tsp.Lemon Juice, Fresh, Squeezed
1/8 tsp.Kosher Salt
Directions

Step 1: Pre-heat oven at 375 degrees F.

Step 2: Place Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked, Mild Pork Sausage Patties onto a parchment lined sheet tray.

Step 3: Cook for 12 to 14 minutes and internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. turning halfway through heating time.

Step 4: Remove from oven and place onto a wire rack at 135 degrees F.

Step 5: Reserve

To assemble:

Step 1: Stack waffles onto one side of a clean serving dish.

Step 2: Top waffles with blackberry compote.

Step 3: Top compote with whipped cream and toasted almonds.

Step 4: Place the Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Pork Sausage Patties next to the waffles.

Step 5: Serve as needed.

Sub Recipe Directions

Step 1: Place a saucepan over medium-high heat.

Step 2: Combine blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt in a saucepan.

Step 3: Toss to coat and let sit for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.

Step 5: Reduce the heat to medium and simmer until sauce has reduced and thickened slightly, 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 6: Remove from the heat and cool for a few minutes before serving.

Step 7: Serve as needed.
